Stands by what he feels, even if some of us are not in agreement:
"I will say though last time I checked all giant pumpkin clubs are nonprofit organizations isn’t that a conflict of interest taking from one nonprofit to fund another? Seed sales are not for supporting charities, little league fund raisers, personal monetary gain, or anything that does not directly give back to the giant pumpkin community. I will not donate seeds to any thing but recognized giant pumpkin clubs or entities that will use the money to support giant pumpkin activities. I will also not support & ask others not to support auctions that are for anything but giant pumpkins. I will also ask all growers do their part to call out web sites & individual growers who are selling seeds for personal gain with out giving back to the community."
Still, why are we not to support these non pumpkin orgaanizations? And what is the problem with selling your seeds for non pumpkin orgaization reasons?
thanks Mr. Stelts, at least one HH has posted their point, and i respect it. yiu have your point and stand by it. hat off.
i stand by mine, and we should be doing more. not for pumpkins, but for those that are not as fortunate as us.

lets put all this in perspective, if a grower chooses to donate his/her seeds to a non pumpkin charity , thats their business and NOBODY elses, period. being the father of a handicapped child, i have seen what a auction/fund raiser can do, it allowed my wife and i to be with my son when he was in a very real fight for his life, without that money, we would not have managed to keep our house, cars, etc. this may not sound right , butuntil you have been where i have been , you have no idea of the daily toll the financial aspect has on a person/family in those times.so, if i were to ask my friends on this site to donate to a cause like that, i would surely like to think i could count on them to help, as i would them.that money is for benefit of a human being, not for wo prize money, plaques, trophies, etc.some people really need to get priorities straight and let pumpkins be what they are, a hobby

Geo, I knew that after yer first "Will we be able to"?...I think that might have been the crux of this conversation, was just tryin to make it a lil humorous? LOL & I would be willing to bet that Mr. Stelts...also gives to non AG sites...for Fundraising, for needed causes!!! Not positive, just a guess!!! Peace, Wayne Thanks, Gary!!! Well said!!!
