Howdy team I've planted 1 1634 out in the patch yesterday and planed to plant a 1596 out tomorrow. I also have a backup 1634 that is doing well. The problem is the 1st and 2nd true leaves that have appeared on the 1596 are half the size of the 1634 backup. Am I better to go with the most vigorous plant or stick with my no1 choice the 1596. At the moment it's keeping up with the 1634 but looks like a smaller version. Is this early growth a good indicator of the plants potential. I'd like to plant both and let them fight it out but thats a bit tricky because soil cables are already in. Any experience or advice appreciated.

Put them both in the ground a couple of feet apart and see how they develop in the next couple of weeks and then cull one.

Downunder you muppet if your trying to get smart surely bringing sheep into it would be more amusing, or is that a little to close to home for you.
