and this link showed up today with an email from an international press organization asking for photos and more information. Joel pointed out an error in the reporting (wrong weight) - I forwarded it along and it has been corrected. I think this is going to be an easy process after all

Well....I've got about 3-4 guys here that did everything right last year that would probably tend to disagree with you :)
Of course they tried to cram it all into about 3 days to get the certification BEFORE the NYC deal.
Good luck! It sure is a fun deal.

That isn't Guinness. It is a "fake" site that "borrows" information from Guinness.
It took me several months from filing to receiving the certificate for the few WRs I grew.

I'm know that it isn't Guinness but I am assuming that the application has been received and processed through phase I if it has been "borrowed" already. I'm aware it will take a few months to get the actual certificates from Guinness for Joel and the festival but we can wait patiently. Good things come to those that wait - ;) Hopefully we will have them in time for Niagara!

Sally I was handed my Certificate in NYC. It can happen quickly!
I said earlier that I think it all happened in 3 days, but they might have crammed it into 2 days. I'm sure Dave, Joe, Alex, Don would recall :)

Thanks Chris - yes there is a fast-track option but I chose not to go that way. I've been told that that option is a real pain in the neck and when we applied on behalf of Al Eaton in 2004 it took close to 6 months or something like that. The Guinness confirmation I received said 4-6 weeks.
I just made this post because I couldn't believe how fast I was contacted by this other site after filing. They sent me the link and I was like "what is this? - who sent the application in for this?" and then I figured it must have had to do with the application I sent to the authentic Guinness site.
