Hi, i have been using the Bryan Langley soil estimator, i am sure a lot here must be using it as well as it seams to be a good tool to help get things close.
I have just one question regarding the nutrient balance page of this soil estimator.
On the Fertilizer page where you put in how many Lbs of Lime, Do you then have to convert and transfer that data onto the Calcium colum on the nutrient page or is this calculation already taken care of in the program?
For example say i put in 100 Lbs of Dolomite ( 21.5% calcium 11.4% Magnesium) in the Fertilizer page, Do i then put 21.5 (100 x .215) in the Calcium colum or not? Or do most just not really bother using the nutrient page?
Hope i made that easy to read on what i was trying to ask.

As far as I recall the data is automatically transferred (and converted) into the nutrients contents table. You can easily find out about that: Change the value of lime or dolomite you want to add, then click into one of the boxes and see if the nutrient levels (for Ca or for Ca and Mg, respectively) change automatically.

Cheers, thanks for the reply, I can see what you are saying, just thought it was a tad odd that there was a box on the nutrients page for calcium and also one for Magnesium as you would select these from the Fert calc page on the Lbs of Lime added and Type of lime. I did notice that the Start figures for Calcium ratios keep changing on the Nutrient Balancer page depending on what type of Lime you chooses from the drop down boxes also. This kind of threw me a tad also as the start figures i would of thought shouldn't change at all no matter what you added, unless i am miss reading it all . Cheers again. appreciated all the help.

All you get is a picture on this link, not a working program

Check your settings. Works fine for me. At the end of the first section click the blue here.
