I'm wanting to send a soil sample to western labs. Their site doesn't say how to send it. The soil is very wet right now, can I send it like that and if so what do I send it in. Thank You..

You need to dry out the sample. Send about a cup of soil in a plastic sandwich bag and label it with your information. Then, put that bag in larger plastic for protection. Finally, put it in a small box with packing material around it and send it. But the soil sample needs to be dry!

Also, if you send a check with your sample you can take 10% off the cost of the test and make sure to send in your soil test form.

I used the small flat rate boxes at the post office. Works good.

I did send them an email asking how much and what to send it in. I received a reply to send 2-3 cups in a ziplock bag. It's to late to call them now. I did go out and gathered a ice cream pail full from three separate areas about six inches down. The stuff is the consistency of soup though. I guess I'll call them Monday though and ask for a drying method. It's very very wet here.
