this post is basically asking weather selfing, sibbing, crossing, or any other breading technicque is better. Basically which would you recomend. I started this post just to organize peoples thoughts

self it in 2005. Then, in 2006 plant 10 from your selfed 1446. Self all of them. Then, select your favorite of the 10 and do it again, until you get 10 plants that have almost identical results. The following season, cross in some other genetic line that has a trait you want to introduce to your strain. Then start over.

I do believe selfing is superior to sibbing if the goal is purifying or solidifying a particular trait. Personnally, i would self the 1446, as this is basically a cross of the world record pumpkin x the world record pumpkin.
