Hi, I am new to all of this, this website and gardening. But i have recently started growing pumpkins and the leaves and actual plants are huge! I have about 3 to 4 flowers on them but they are all male. This has been going on for about 3 weeks now. Any advise?
PS: The seeds were taken from a pumpkin i bought last year.

Females usually develope 2 weeks after the males. Are any of the small flowers at the end of the main vine sitting on top of pea or marble sized developing ovaries?

I just checked and i can see a little marble sized bump under a bud on the end of the plant.

has anyone ever noticed how the males-then-females
thing is just like humans having a party?
we know there's gonna be beer. we show up.
the girls know there's gonna be guys (and beer)
and they eventually show up also.
in the meantime the bees have found all these male flowers and therefore know where they are, and the females show up
and the bees pollinate them, these new and even-better-smelling ones......ahhhhhh, thus is the circle complete....
i'm not yet sure where the bees are akin to anything in the
humans/party picture of things, but i'll work on it.....

was the pumpkin you bought an Atlantic Giant?
'cause if not, wow, wait 'till you plant on of THOSE!!!! EG
