Anybody know what that one looked like? Shape, color? Dill rings? I'm trying to decide between 884 Calai(02) and 840 Hester (02) for good color/shape. Any input welcome... Frank

Frank I would go with both. I am unaware of any 884 Calai that has succesfully germinated. Several growers tried it last year with no results.

Frank the 884 came off the 869 Calai so it was a nice orange color. But i would plant both seeds but Frank if you don't want it i will trade you for it.
Clinton Rose e-mail me at [email protected] or [email protected] ok.

I can't give you much on that one either, but I will be trying to get one germinated from it this year myself. I had chatted with Nic Welty and he stated that the attempts he made germinating it were all killed by an unknown fungus. It looks like a great cross on paper, but nothing grown so far. I would give it a try, but have a backup ready too.

I believe Kurt Hermann told me he grew something off the 884...can't be positive about that tho' but seems like he did when I talked to him a month or so ago.

Hey Clinton...the 884 came off the 846 Calai, not the 869.5

try soaking the seed, or any seed for that matter, in straight, 3% hydrogen peroxide for 6-8 hours and then plant it for real in your temperate germination environment...it works wonders. 'pal2
