Say I want to purify out the 845 bobier with good known seeds. let's take the 950 boyton, it is a selfed 845 already. What is the difference between selfing it again or sibbing it with another 950? Will both basically do the same thing? Or how about crossing the 1097 beachy (845, 723) with the 950. The 723 and 845 are the same cross, so would this basically purify out the strain too? Thanks for the help, Jim

What goal do you have in mind? By purifying, are you referring to isolating growth vigor or fruit size?
If you truly want to purify a strain, then selfing is the closest you can come. I dont think sibbing leads to predictable trait expression when applied to AG's.
Crossing with something like the 1097 certainly will not aid in "purifying" the cross...this adds a whole new set of genetics.
Cloning and selfing are your best bets for isolating specific traits.
Hope this helps!

I'm referring to hybrid vigor, purifying out two lineages and then crossing them hoping for hybrid vigor in pumpkin size. Similar to how the 935 lloyd was made, then crossed with something very different. Thanks, Jim
