I find myself home again with the stomach flu so I have written and posted the first in a series of primers on the subject of line-breeding for the Atlantic Giant, Introduction and terminology, you can view the first primer here.
http://www.members.shaw.ca/giantveggies/breeding.html
I'll not guarantee when the next one will be written and posted, hopefully in the next couple weeks.
I'll post here when it is up and ready.

Just an added bonus to the line-breeding topic and info I'll explain more about in the primers. I've included below actual numbers and facts which supports the line-breeding techniques in Ag's
The info I obtained from this newly posted list at http://home.pacbell.net/diana_do/topseeds.htm written by Vince
Facts and Info:
Top 4 Seeds to grow 1000lb+ pumpkins 723, 845 Bobier, 846 Calai and 705 Stelts All from line breeding, namely the 935 Lloyd and 801.5 Stelts. The 935 being from a more pure strain than the 801.5
Top 9 of 10 pumpkins come from the 935 and 801.5 lines 77 out of 190 1000lb+ pumpkins that have been grown to date.
48 of the 91 pumpkins producing 1000+ pumpkins to date have come from these two lines for a total of 134 of the 190 1000lb+ pumpkins of which
21 where from the Lloyd line producing 69 1000lb+ pumpkins 18 where from the Stelts line producing 52 1000lb+ pumpkins
The top cross to date is the outcrossing of these two lines together, namely the 723 x 846 and 846 x 723 which inludes 5 seperate crosses creating 8 of the 1000lb+ pumpkins. Another 4 outcrossing of these lines added 5 more 1000lb+ pumpkins.
