If anyone has a seed or seed list and has no clue what to plant or what crosses to attempt for the most chance of success why don't you post your questions on this board?
I'm not saying I have the answers but maybe some other folks will chime in and try to help out.
For example...the 582 Hester grew the 1458Whittier but it was disqualified I believe from either having holes into the cavity or from rot underneath. My 582Hester produced a 595 in my patch and also rotted underneath long before the weighoffs.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to what pumpkin might best be crossed with the 582?
The 842 Eaton is said to have grown disease free in Al's patch even though all the other plants were suffering. Would this be a good cross or is there something in the background of these pumpkins that might make it a bad idea?
Any ideas? Michel

I am thinking strongly of crossing my 740 GIPE UOW, 1097.5 TC X 1061.5 TC. with the 582 and back accross the other way. Any feelings out there on this good or bad?

I like that idea doc, the genetics are very different and may be a good example of hybrid vigor.
