I've already started my experiments but some things I wont be able to start on untill next season. Hopefully I can get some accurate info from the expert growers. Try not to laugh too much at me I'm just a silly cajun man haha.
How long does it take from planting the seed untill it starts to flower?
Starting when the flower/fruit starts growing.. how long does it take before seeds can be harvested?
Say I pull a seed out of a pumpkin today.. If I plant that seed today will it grow right away?
Overall I'm trying to figure out how many generations I can get out of one growing season.
Thanks again, Brodie

male flowers will start to open approximately 50 days from seed start. under normal conditions the male flowers will develop before the pumpkins start to show.
fruit takes approximately 90 days of growth to produce good seeds
fresh seeds will germinate very fast and could be replanted same day they are harvested
the only way you could get two seasons of pumpkin planting is if you lived in a climate that allowed year round growing,or had a climate controled greenhouse type setting

it would be possible to do it in about 13 weeks. 6 weeks to set, 6 week old fruit, 7 days to dry. This is if you are pushing very hard.
So I guess it would be possible to get 4 generations in in a year. If you have a plant that doesnt cooperate, it could easilly delay you a week or 2 per generation. I would say 3 generations for sure, 4 if you are lucky.

Your question doesn't mention the use of greenhouses, so assuming you won't be using them, growing in LA, I would agree with Tom except you can cut 1 week off the "6 weeks to set" as our climate will speed up that stage by about 1 week. BF
