Yes, It will still have the good genetics behind it. So cross it with something good.

kinda depends on why its only 300lbs? Did you do something wrong? Did mother nature do it? Soil issues? Time issues? Personally I would question a 1068 that only went 300lbs if my patch situation was fairly acceptable....but thats me.

Is it a 1068 or a 1068 offspring? Are you a newer grower and if so, where the heck did you get a 1068 from??

Thanks Thomas, tried the email again but don't see any reply from you in your response.
Must be a 1068 related seed and not the original...would be interested to know what the seed package said...was it something like 1068 x ???? ....that would explain alot to many of us.
Another good example of knowing what you have or what you plant...especially when you trade.

What did you pay for the plant? If it wasn't $500 or more, it wasn't a 1068 Wallace.

Thanks for clearing that up Thomas. I'd be happy to save you $30 by sending you seeds for next year....even better if you contact Jeff Reid from Waterville NS I'd bet that he'd be happy to share seeds with you as well.
Jeff is a very well respected grower who will be able to provide you with some very nice seeds from some pretty amazing pumpkins. His diary is at the link below and just click on the envelope for his email....good luck/Glenn

aussie, I don't think there making fun of you in anyway. Sept can be stressful on a pumpkin grower(as lot can go wrong). Some come here to relieve a little tension, I think. It's common for new growers to get confused with pumpkin cross info. Maybe your plant has the 1068 Wallace as a parent. If you are unclear on the parentage, you may want to request seeds from growers this fall. There should be some great genetics to be had. Good luck!

What's wrong with selling plants? The guy that runs the Stoughton Weigh-off here in Wisconsin bought a thousand dollars worth of quality seeds from P&P seeds. He had somebody start them in a greenhouse and sold them for around $10 apiece at a local greenhouse. What a great way to get people to try an AG who normally wouldn't. I'm sure he took a loss on the deal, but hopefully stirred up a bit of interest for his weigh-off.

there is nothing wrong with a greenhouse selling ag plants it get people interested but selling plants with a tag that said wallace 1068 is a lie and not good for the sport it takes a way from the grower that puts his hart and soul into his patch and some one steals his idenity
