OK, How many others have tried to cross the 845 Bobier X 898 Knauss? What are the successes and failures if any?
Seems the 898 Knauss has a pretty good track record to success especially when its on the male side.

In fact lets take it even farther, other remakes have been attempted, have any of those been successful?

There are several different 845 x 898 crosses that haven't even been planted. The 845 is a remake of the 723 Bobier. Just think if it wasn't ever planted. Some folks don't like to try a remake of a seed. Take the 503 Beauchemin... it's a remake of the 898 Knauss, that hasn't been planted. Could even be better then the 898.

1081 Leonzi '05 (845B x 898K) got a limited trial last year but we had a historically bad growing year here in CT. If it's grown again I think we'll see some action.
Some others:
1133.4 Demers is proving itself a good parent. 1127 Glasier 1071.8 Houghton '03

I grew the 958 t ciliberto (898 x 845) my first yr with little knowaladge,& many mistakes & ground less than 3% org matter , roots , rocks< & powdery mildew bad & early ,too much third stage growth ,,- And still got a 872 lber Then last yr I grew a 1068 Reverse of 958, & my comparisons showed the 958 to be better plant & better growing pumpkin < only ended (early) with 830 lbs , There were concederable differances in growing & weather , but Over all id say the 958 out preformed the 1068 , Maybe ron could grow the 958 & get dobble what i got 872 x 2 = 1744 lbs ott & go 15% heavy & end up with 2005 lber !!!!

and dont forget the 914 Sandvick, just needs to be planted more, the 1081 Leonzi 05 was a very very aggressive plant if a rabbit didnt eat half way thu the main 2 feet from the stem, and me busting the stem off with the tractor, who knows it, cetified at 600Lbs most of the size was in the first 30+ days thats right when the rabbit had its way with it, the fruit was solid as a rock.
