Hello thoes of you who have won a 1502 in an auction or one is possibly coming your way. Please tell us what you plan to cross it with. The 1502 must be the female for posting the cross. But you may also share what you will pollinate with a 1502 as the male.
Thanks!

I think the 951 Castellucci, would be an awsome cross for the 1502. But crossing the 1068 back into it would be preety nice also.

1320 (Wex), I hope you get a 1450 as much as I hear you talk about how bad you want to grow it.
Thats a easy one Jordon,Self it.
Eddy, I think I might have a 951,if I do, and you want it,you can have it.

I do have it Eddy, got it from the GPC Auction, from Dick Wallace last year.
Jordon, one more thing, if you have trouble starting seeds and you think you might have a problem germinating them, try to find a experienced grower close to you to germinate or help you germinate that seed for you so you can be sure to grow it. It can be disapointing not being able to germinate a great seed because of grower error, believe me, I know!,lol

Brooks thanks but I do have one also. Appreciate the gesture.
After a second look at the 1502, I would Possible go with the 898 Knauss, how could that not be an awsome cross. Or how about the 723 Bobier, what part of that cross don't make sense. Why not the 1370 Rose, Big Heavy colorful. OK, I don't know, so many good seeds, so many good crosses, need another deepfreeze.

I don't really like the 1370 as a pollinator very much. That seems like it could be a very unpredictable seed. A back cross to some good Knauss or Bobier genes might be best; preferably something that doesn't split. We need to know more about the 1068 first, there have been several underachievers that we've never heard about. Then we can figure out what may be the best pollinator to compensate for the 1068's weeknesses. Tom

we to have given some thought and will do a lot more over the next few months.
personally, the 898 has crossed my mind.oe we may do a 1502 x 1450 and a 1450 x 1502 as well.
we do need four other pollinators for 1068 crosses next year. i kinda like the werner and pukos crosses. but then again may try a pollinator from something way way back in the vault as i tried this past year with the 887 orr seed. we like the crosses we made this year but would not want to repeat them again. no point really

Nice pap I agree on repeating crosses.Unless the cross is almost extinct then growers should make the cross again.

Last year Stuart and I wanted to cross the 1068 with the 1354 because we felt that the 1068 was missing some important 723 genetics and the 1354 has loads of 723. Unfortunately that idea went up in smoke early in the year, but fortunately those great chaps from RI did the cross for us all. So this year we want to put some pure 723 into the 1502. 1502 x 723 723 x 1502 Were hoping that this will put size and consistency together. We also feel that to get good seeds for the future, BOTH of these two plants must perform not just the female.

i will cross 1354 w/ 1502 ( pollinator) the 1354 goes real heavy and the 1502 brings all that 1068 w/ with the 1354 in it already. could be awesome. i am also looking forward to the wallace 977. this will be the sleeper seed. ...... but what the hell do i know , i'm a rookie!

i haven't done any research or anything yet, but as we may have seen in the case of the 845 X 898 cross (isn't that the 1068's?), it seems, so far, that anything poll'd by the 898 Knauss is bound to have heavyweight-producing seeds in it. so, 1068 X 898 = !!! lol>>>life itself X 898= super life! yeah, it IS late---
