To get some store bought Atlantic Giant and cross it with a proven competitive seed to get some original genetics back into play?
Wyatts Wonder, Big Max, Prizewinner? Anyone cross these?

nope...that would be like putting an escort engine in a race car...You will just end up with a smaller version of what you are trying to cross. Plus it would be hard to get people to plant. Hundreds of my seeds get sent out every year very few make it to the ground.

I put a race car engine in an escort 55 Rahe 06 (Cinderella x 1238.5 Brunst 05) Why? because it isn't as boring as Cinderella x self might be fun but i doubt you could win a weigh-off the cross. Email me if you want one.

Several growers have been there and done that without much sucess. I'm not aware of anything that has been grown extensively outside of the Red Warty Thing a couple of years ago. I think Mike Frantz had a big max seed line in 03 or 04 you might want to check his diary entries. Unless you have got a few years to breed some disease resistance get some AGP's and stick with'em

So the further away from the original genetics is best. Thanks.

just keep planting the Gerry seeds, and you'll do fine, lol; especially if they are from THIS year's package! and the 510.6, lol...

Eric, I have a plan this year. I'll get it down on email and send it to you after my wife is done spending my money.
