I think the possibility exists that this could be a good cross. Here are my reasons why:
- The 1190 has the genetics that are made for going heavy. Unfortunately, they probably won't produce very beautiful pumpkins, but it is not a beauty contest so who cares.
- The 1233.5 has the genetics to produce very round, orange pumpkins (proven this year) it also has the tendency to go heavy (also light, but ya gotta think positive). I would use it as the male pollinator.
- The cross could produce progeny that have the tendency to go heavy, and have a decent color and shape.
The only way to find out is to grow this cross. I think if you have the room to grow an uproven seed, this is a good cross to try.
