Can anyone help? I received a packet from another grower with a yellow printed label..."Holland's Land O Giants" Pumpkin seeds. Pumpkin: 911 Holland 05 - Female: 961 Daletas - Male: 1127 Holland. When I did a BP site search for more info, I found a Jan 05 post (which made no sense if it is an 05 pumpkin) saying the 911 Holland split at 40 days and had few, if any, viable seeds. Today, on another website, I found a 911 Holland 04 (1260.4 Weir 01 x 1134 Holland 03). I thought, perhaps, the "05" on my packet was a misprint, but now I'm also looking at different parentage. This pumpkin is doing very well for me. I'd sure like to know what I'm growing! Appreciate any help. Glenna

I think you are growing the 911 Holland 2004.
Female: 1260.4 Weir 2001 Male: 1134 Holland 2003
It doesn't seem likely that Joel grew a 911 two years in a row. It's a lot less likely that he would do it with the exact same parents.
I'd say that the '05 was a typo.

I got one of these growing in my patch.....It was an emergency plant donated from GHopson that was given to him and he didnt have room. I joined the club and bought the videos just to get those hot seeds... Hollands site didnt list a year on that 911 and he ran out of that seed, so I didnt get one......darn. I did self this plant in hopes of retaining the genetics but dont know how well that works, but Im gonna try. The website reads as follows: 911#: 341” (961 Daletas X 1,127 Holland) It was a pinkish-orange, solid pumpkin with no flaws, and weighed 9.3% heavy.
Check out his site........great DVD's too http://www.hollandsgiants.com/seed.html

Thanks guys for all the input. The mystery has been solved! I received an e-mail from Joel Holland saying, "The 911 was grown in 05 and was from the 961 Daletas x 1127 Holland. It did not crack and was entered in a contest at Central Market and then went on display until after Halloween. I did have a pumpkin a couple years back that reached an estimated 911 lbs. from the Weir 1260 when it split at about 40 days." So there we have it. I just baked some fabulous cookies - wish you could all come by for coffee! Thanks, Glenna
