I have the pleasure of having this seed growing in my patch this year. Monster of a plant. After a late start I have a 'kin that is beach ball sized. If you are growing this seed, how is your plant doing?------LB

Definitely the best plant I have this year all-around, and second best fruit....for now.Unfortunately, my 30 day old fruit looks like its 60 days old from the 4 days of 97* degrees we had with no misting , etc... wrong time for hot and windy here.

excellant plant was the best in my patch until fusarium took it. the fruit was nice shape unfortunatly I can't tell what the end result would have been. But I harvested three pumkins today one was777.5 c wolfe 650 lbs pear shape and excellant color at day 41 the other was 1253 sperry = 880 lbs wheel shaped and orange at day 47 and the 1190 l wentzell which had a split = 900 lbs perfect shape pink to orange at day 43 and the macari was on pace or ahead of these until the disease took it. I would definatly grow the 1173 again if I have a chance.

It's one of my favorites~ but i dont have one. Guess i'll scope the autions in the winter. i might find one there maybe! no more asking or trading, i'd rather help out a growers group instead! And become a member. Roger

1173 here also was doing well in WI....the heat came and it aged just like mr andrews fruit...its somewhere over 500 lbs. We had 4-5 days of 95+ with a 100 in there...almost all the fruit in the patch took a hit with gains slowing and never really recovering.

So you felt the heat stopped growth not enhanced IT? DId the kin start cantaloping? Do you have it shaded? Gathering info Im am....We're now in a cool stage with slow rain and 75 degree days.....Ill see how much this slows us down....supposed to get back to 90 next week. Keep posting on the gains again.....id be interesting in knowing. Thanks
