Dan:
846 Jutras was about even to the chart. Offspring tend to go a little light, though not all offspring are light. 846 x 578 or the reverse sounds like a great orange cross... grandparents 604 Jutras, 1016 Daletas, 670 Daigle, 1370 Rose. By the way, we are instituting "Howard Dill Golden Globe" awards in Michigan for fruit with best shape, color & symmetry. Sounds like this cross would be a candidate... Frank

My 846 Jutras plant was a fast grower. A very early pollination taped 840 in mid August when stem split went into the cavity. It went about 794 about 4% light after sitting in my pickup for a week in August.

Dan I think I should worn you about the chance of growing the 846. I think you have the risk of growing a pumpkin that stem splits to often for my liking. Maybe you should grow the 604 instead I don't know any of them spliting. If you don't have one and would like one send me an e mail I'll send you one. Best of luck this season Joe Jutras
