I am taking an informal opinion poll. I have selfed versions of both pumpkins. Which pumpkin would throw the deepest orange pumpkin?

I think the chances are very good with the 1101 x self. Of all the progeny that I have seen from the 1101 there are none with less than great color. The 670 has some progeny that are not real deep orange so who knows. I myself will grow my 621( 1101 x self) and the 1101 again this season mainly to see what my 621 seed does and because the 1101 plants where my easiest plants to manage. just my 2cents worth. STEVE

I'll tell you next October. I'm growing Steve's 1101 x self and Ornskov's 670 x self. Be nice to compare. Brad

Good question. I'd consider the colors of the pumpkins the seeds came out of. I don't know if this is correct reasoning, but I'd think the selfed seeds from the darker colored pumpkin, would have a better chance at passing that color on to the next generation.
