I'm trying to find out the parents of the 845 bobier. I'm going back from the 861 Fredricks/George whose had the Boyton 950.4 as a parent.

My goal is to find where any heat tolarance stands out in this pumpkin line. Reverse engineering if you will. Maybe I can figure out what crosses may have contributed to it's potential heat tolarence.

whoops the boyton 950.4 is O3 and I'm not 100% sure on the 845 but I believe it was year 00.

845 Bobier is from the 935 Lloyd x 865 Mettler.

Ok, now i'm down to the 687 Lloyd 95. Almost a decade back. Anyone know the parents of the 687 Lloyd?

even if you do find out anything about the heat tolerance and where it came from, these are murky waters you are heading into...there is probably not much research done into which strains of Atlantic Giant are most heat-tolerant, but there have been numerous other posts and discussions about it. you might be better off running a site search starting with "heat tolerance" or similar and reading what has already been typed on BP.com about the subject...saving youself hours of your valuable time...and then picking it up where anyone else has left off. additionally, the heat tolerance of a plant in my opinion has a lot to do with how well its root system is established. the 845 Bobier is reputed to have a high tolerance for heat; if Boily can grow it in Australia, it MUST be right up there! but, finding out WHY without a huge background in genetics and/or plant physiology might be extremely difficult. maybe you have that, in which case and in ANY case, good luck to you on it! let me know how the 575 does, if you ever plant it; the 767 Catapano was half 723 Bobier, the same cross as the 845 ...575=950.4 (845 X 845) X 767 (723 X 846)...hmmm....EG

Oh, I know what you mean about murky waters. You just never know unless you had a long time study covering all the variables etc. I saw that about the root system which would make sense why it tolerates heat better in some of the plants. I also just wanted to get a history of this line which I will try to do with other seeds. Maybe that way I won't overcross seeds that already have a certain gene. Seeds such as the 805 Pukos, 935 Lloyd, 842 Eaton ‘02, seem to have that extra something that either produce big pumpkins or tolerate heat better than others etc.
For me personally, I think having a heat tolerant plant will help me grow the largest possible pumpkin possible in my climate. Time is short! I don't want to waste time growing pumpkins that are not suited to my growing conditions.
Will do on the 575.
