Has anyone ever crossed a proven AG with something odd like a white pumpkin such as Lumina or an heirloom variety like the fairtale carriage type pumpkins? Big Max and AG? Just a dumb question, thought it would be neat to see a giant white pumpkin.

AG x prizewinner AG x big max AG x red warty heirloom AG x blue hubbard Have all been done. I tried to do a AG x cinderella this year but nothing took due to terrible pollination conditions.

I was going to do a 250 Kilbert x cinderella and an 250 Kilbert x golden hubbard. Only 1 of my attempts took and it split at day 28. So I have no seeds :( It took me 24 pollinations to get 2 sets on one of my regular AG plants.

I think we may be looking at this a little too simplistically...

Simply put; if we are looking to create a seed that will produce fruit displaying certain phenotypes from one variety/strain and certain other phenotypes from the variety/strain, there is a long arduous journey ahead of us filled with years of crossing, backcrossing and selfing...and that's if you're very lucky, BF PS. But you have got to start somewhere...
