Anyone else have funky seed leaves with this seed? Just curious as its done it twice for me. If its a common trait its definately not a problem! I have a few pics in my diary..... Ben

My entire plant looked like a "weakling" for several weeks. Finally "snapped out of it" and grew a 1050. I hear that TomB is upset with me for taking it to the Puyallup Fair when it was still gaining 114# a week!!

Boily,I was poking holes in a envelope with a pin for air holes after dumping all of my stater seeds out of it but found out the 1097 seed didnt dump out and was still stuck in the corner of the envelope.I poked a hole through the center of the seed through both sides and it grew normal besides growing with pierced ears,I ended up with 845lb pumpkin from the plant.
Stan, send me a picture of yours if ya dont mind, cause i dont see the picture listed yet, what color was it? Alot of people had trouble with the 1097 this year and you played it smart. Thats a great growing plant isnt it! I hope i can get my hands on another 1097 for next year.

Can't remember any seed leaf abnormalities, plant was vigorous as can be...just couldn't get a fruit to grow bigger than 250# w/o self destructing! Just didn't like my patch or the climate here in New England I guess...LOL

My 1097 Beachy had very small leaves all season. The Seed leaves however were normal
