im curious as to how the rest of pumpkin land is doin with our 1068 and 500 seed stocks here in ri eight of our club members that planted it all have very competitive pumpkins in fact i think one of the guys in our group may go over 1400 ( hes taping 1370 at the moment ) i did not post this to thump my chest or incourage seed requests because these seed stocks will only be available in special circumstances because of our low count my reason for inquiring is to see how well the seed is doing outside of ri
thanks

Can't answer the question yet, as I only recently acquired the 500 seed at the NEPGA picnic raffle, psyched! I'm starting to think that a seed may do better in a region where it came from...any thoughts? Duff

Dick, let me get back to you on that question,I need to check the bottom of my wifes shoes for your plant, and I should have shoved them shoes up her,,,,,, I Mean put them shoes on them pretty little feet of hers and then tie them for her in a nice bow around her neck,,,,I mean then buy her a real nice necklace becuase she is so good to me, i love her so very ,very much,,,,,

Pap: My 1068 will be weighed at Elk Grove on October 1st. If it keeps going and is just a little heavy it will be about 900 lbs. It was my best plant (out of 21) from the beginning!

I can only speak for the Wallace 500. Very small plant due to limited growing area and heavy pruning. Steady, long growing pumpkin, taped at 357 OTT and weighed in at 942 lbs, very close to what the charts said it would weigh.

jd its amazing to me that you were able to accomplish that kind of growth in the conditions you had to deal with
to me that says as much about the grower as it does the seed stock
we will frame your newspaper article and hang it in our pumpkin shed along with our other items

Sadly, my 1068 split on the blossum end on August 13th at a circ. of 123" due to a defect in the blossum end. I had cut off all other fruit by the time this defect was discovered. Simply a grower error. Dick, I hope that your seed does terrific this fall!
