Today my 781 Landry x 898 Knauss aborted at abour 50 lbs. I liked the cross and was hoping to use the seeds for next years pumpkin. I took out about 50 seeds that looked pretty mature. My question is are seeds from such a small pumpkin going to be viable?

The only way to kniow for sure is to try germinating a few. How old was the fruit?

Russ Landry said a few posts ago, around 50 days to have a pumkin with potentially viable seeds.

But a month old is entirely possible...

Thanks Guys, The fruit was 20 days old. I got the thought of even looking for seeds because I thought I remembered Tom Beachy growing seeds from a 21 lber. I was surprised how mature the seeds were that I found. They were already normal size with slightly thinner seed coat. I'll dry them and probably try germinating in October to check them out.

Milford,no need to dry them out, right guys? Just stick them in a pot like you normaly would do and see what happens.
