Dan: I am pretty sure this picture shows the 857 Platte. It is the lime green one to the left of the watermellon. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=30493

Dan,
Steve is correct, the picture shows the 857 grown from the 771 Stellpflug. The 857 was suprisingly light green, but clearly a greenie. You should not have to worry - the 771 consistantly produces greenies. I also have a 771 in the patch this year, but it is no where near 15' at this point. Best of luck.

My dad is growing the 771 this year as well. Hoping for a greenie too. Gonna try to cross it with the 874.5 Dieffenbaugher.

Dan, It will stay green for you. I grew the 771* last year and came away with the 695* Landry-04, - 771* x 675* Hester. It has been green on its fathers side since before 1988 and green on the mother side way back to the 900.5 Lyons-94. I liked all the sibbing in its background and the 895 genes.
