if you only had room left for one of these 2, the 846 or the 1225 jutras, which would you grow and why?
and then if you had the 735 pukos and the 842 eaton available for male pollinators, which cross would you make with your choice of the 1225 or the 846?
i am leaning towards the 846 jutras f. x 735 pukos m. cross but the 1225 jutras f. x 842 eaton m. sounds great too. i know the 1083 frantz is the 842 f. x 1225 m., but have either of the crosses i mentioned above been made yet?
and while i am at it, who has made the 735 x 842 or 842 x 735 crosses already?
all responses to my multitude of questions are greatly appreciated.

Jeff,
I would plant both the 1225 and the 846 and kick out the 735. Then do a 842 X 1225 and a 1225 X 842 cross for maximum size and either cross the 846 with the 1225 or, even better, self the 846 for best color.
If you don't want to do that you have to decide if best weight or color is the desire. For best weight choose the 1225 and for best color the 846. I'd choose the 846.

The 1225 tends to go heavy OTC, the 846 tends to go light, or on the money. Other than that, they're pretty even on color, and both are proven. Can't really go wrong either way.

604 Jutras 02 (850 Wallace UOW 00 X 1020 Kuhn 01)
The 604 is a sweetheart. Just look at the 846, nice ribs & shoulders & great color.

850 Wallace (567.4 Wallace '96 x 801.5 Stelts '97)
The 567.4 Wallace also bore the 920 Cole. Howard crossed the 920 Cole with the 715 Dill to make the 810 Dill.
Small wonder where all this color came from?
We sold a 567.4 with several other seeds for $55.00. I should have bought that lot myself.

Hi Jeff, thanks for the winning bid on the Jutras lot #13. Now decisions, decisions. Last year grew the 1225 to 798lbs [soil issues]. Nice shape and beautiful color. Good luck and thank you. Peter
