Rules at a site are not for the judges only. If you see something or someone that you feel is breaking the rules then discuss with the site judges. If you are not satisfied after this then contact your regional GPC rep & file your grievance but all this needs done before you leave the site.

Each site is required to have a copy of the current GPC rules present for all to see & GPC rules take precedence over any individual rules a site might have no exceptions.

Deal With It

Good advice!

If you suspect that other growers despise you to the point that they would sabotage your entry, bring along an extra person to take an uncut video of the entire weighoff experience.

Make certain to get a clear shot of the face of everyone who touches your entry, and never allow your entry to be taken out of your sight.

despise is such a strong word but it does happen. fortunately the incidents are very, very, rare and far between.
when it gets to the point that videos and body guards are needed? its time to stay home.

this hobby of ours is and should be all about growin, showin and making life long friends.
all others need to stay home and stew in their own soup.

ian hits the nail on the head as usual --- good message

Claremongoose, I certainly hope no one would stoop to damaging someone's pumpkin, but with big prize money involved it could happen. If you are worried, of course you should keep your entry under observation at all times. I have seen growers bring their own lifting ring if they didn't trust what the site had, and no one was upset. The only controversy I ever saw was when one grower thought someone else should have been DQ'd, never a complaint of intentional damage. But I like to think that the vast majority of growers are honest and would never damage someone's entry.
