I am putting in a drip system. Will walking boards put on top of drip line hurt the lines. I have seen diaries with them on top—am a 3rd-year grower and want to make sure I do things right.

Depends a lot on if you have rocky soil or not.I'm a big guy so I place the boards between the drip tape as much as possible.

I lay the tape on top of my boards because I am on a hillside, and the eventual flattening of the boards as I walk on them would cut off my flow. I also install it holes up, because the manufacturer recommends that way if not burying, but you should check with your drip tape specs as some are different.

Most drip tape is designed to be able to be buried, so it can take some pressure on top without affecting the performance. I would say you're ok either way, especially if you're not walking on it during irrigation, but even then it would only affect it if standing in one spot gazing at your hard work too long.

Don't overthink it, just keep the irrigation consistent if you can, and have fun! :)

Screw 4 x 4's to bottom of your walking boards to elevate them

Big Moon, I don’t know how to edit my posts. Sorry about the typo. I really would never post something bad.

I am just teasing, I don't think you can edit posts on here as far as I am aware.

Carla Sue I definitely didn't mean to scare you off or offend in any way. I thought it was a funny typo.

After I hit the reply button and read it, I knew I was in trouble. No big deal —not offended but thank you for your concern.
