Lindsay and I grew giant radishes, and we left one plant to go to seed. Here we are the middle of November and this plant is still growing like crazy. can I harvest the seed pods while green and dry them or should we wait till the plant dies? then how long do we let the dry? thanks

Kenny I would leave them on for as long as possible. Once temps start dipping into the lower 20's. The radishes will really start to shut down. You could then cut the stalks with the seed pods. Then dry them off somewhere. Once they are thoroughly dry you will be able crack/crush the pods and the seeds will fall out. You can then clean the seed by blowing away all the chaff. Hopefully the seeds will have achieved enough size so that the seed will be viable. It's easier to get seeds from an early spring planting that bolts in the summer heat than it is to get seed to mature in the waning days of fall.

thanks like the rest of the Midwest reaching the low 20's will be here mid week. I just didn't want to leave them to long and miss harvesting the seeds. Thanks for the Help
