Engel's Great Pumpkins and Carvings

Menomonie, WI (mail@gr8pumpkin.net)

OK its getting to be that time again. I have hosted this insane Giant Seed Exchange for 11 years now. Here is what it is. Each grower packages enough seed packages of something giant for the number of participants(40). Like Long Gourds,Cabbage, Watermelon, Canteloupe, Field Pumpkins, Beans, Tomatoes, Sunflowers, Corn, Onions, Beets, Swedes, or anything else odd. The catch is it can not be Atlantic Giant seeds.

You send your seeds to us. Then Chardonnay and I sort them, Box them and send them to the participants. All I ask in return is $5.00 to cover the cost of packaging and postage.

We are trying to limit the varieties so we do not have all of the same seeds to have a good variety, we reserve the right to say we have enough of one variety and say no more. List what you have to contribute, and your number.

Please send your seeds to:
Shannon Engel
2513 Ricky Lane
Menomonie, WI 54751

PS you can send us your pumpkin seeds with your exchanges

Please do not put your name on this list if you are not 100% certain you are going to participate. If you send us bulk seeds not in individual packages...please dont expect seeds back as you can not follow the instructions.

$5
40 individual seed packages with who from and what they are

Your return address clearly written..

If you are from outside the US extra postage is appreciated

@cueball --- Here is a repost of a post I included last year for those in the exchange that will help explain how it works (Note I added more seeds than needed last year as I had an abundance but Shannon noted this year that not that many are needed per person as with 40 packets just a couple of each variety is usually plenty !!)

Repost from last years thread :
For those new to the exchange and wondering how to organize them Here is a pic of how I did mine ready to be placed in the box and sent : ( http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc189/JDFanning_bucket/veggieexchange2012001.jpg )

I put each type of seed in a seed bag (walmart has 100 bags for $1 so needed 2 sets for the 120 packs (40x3)and have extras for my seeds)labeled with pic and description (laser printer makes this the easiest way to label) then placed those into a larger pack ( Walmart had them @ $2 for 100 - only needed 40 so have extras left) Did this so it is easier on Shannon and team to repack the 40 sets rather than 120 small packs.

Placed in box with $5 return postage and return shipping labels ( Note added for 2013 : This year $6 Postage) - figure with 40 labels to write out anything to reduce chance of error helps ! Taped shut and went to ship.
