Hi, I own a farm tours business in Chino, Ca (Amy's Farm Tours) and every October we include a pumpkin for each student to take home after their field trip to our farm. For the past 3 years I have grown my own pumpkins for this event, but this year I am just not up to the task! I would like to find a grower who I could purchase these pumpkins from. And I just don't know where to start looking. Can anyone give me any suggestions or phone numbers? Thanks!

We really don't want to see 3000 pumpkins after they've been shipped from Illinois to California. Nor the freight bill!
There has to be a California growers association that can help. Time for a google search I guess.

Just sent an email to someone who may be able to help. Pete Glasier might be helpful here too. But his email is on the other computer.

What would be the point of having a farm tour, and giving them pumpkins grown from another location? Kind of defeats the purpose. Might as well bring them to the grocery store.

Geese.....They have to be grown within reasonable distance from the point of use. No way can you make long hauls profitable. 90% of non-city pumpkins are pick your own in Pennsylvania for that reason.

Why not purchase those tiny tiny pumpkins for one year. You should be able to get those close to you and they wouldn't cost as much.
