Well here we are sitting at September 1st and I have an absolutely beautiful plus 2,000 pound pumpkin sitting in the patch.
I have always grown for ORANGE since I started growing a long long time ago knowing the really big ones are hard to get when you grow for orange. But the past 3 or 4 years we have seen a orange revolution taking place in the pumpkin growing community in which the genetics are now capable of throwing a brilliant orange world record again!
For me personally this is the highlight of my pumpkin growing career, an absolute orange Beauty Queen this freaking big.
I am not sure where I am going to take her maybe Barnesville, or the Pennsylvania weighoff, maybee even upto Parks with the Ohio Valley Growers. Well on second thought I am losing sleep having this Beautiful Orange Buick sitting in the patch so not sure I can keep her in the patch till the second week of October! I will let the fruit health and growth dictate when I pull her for a weigh-off.
On another note if she continues to grow the way she has been I might be hauling her all the way out to California...
Grown off the 2110 Platte. Thank you Joe.
