Well here we are sitting at September 1st and I have an absolutely beautiful plus 2,000 pound pumpkin sitting in the patch.
I have always grown for ORANGE since I started growing a long long time ago knowing the really big ones are hard to get when you grow for orange. But the past 3 or 4 years we have seen a orange revolution taking place in the pumpkin growing community in which the genetics are now capable of throwing a brilliant orange world record again!
For me personally this is the highlight of my pumpkin growing career, an absolute orange Beauty Queen this freaking big.
I am not sure where I am going to take her maybe Barnesville, or the Pennsylvania weighoff, maybee even upto Parks with the Ohio Valley Growers. Well on second thought I am losing sleep having this Beautiful Orange Buick sitting in the patch so not sure I can keep her in the patch till the second week of October! I will let the fruit health and growth dictate when I pull her for a weigh-off.
On another note if she continues to grow the way she has been I might be hauling her all the way out to California...
Grown off the 2110 Platte.
Thank you Joe.

Well.... What a heck of year! To be able to start the season with two plants and end up with this Absolutely Beautiful 2,405 lb near perfect specimen. I feel as if I have found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and even caught a glimpse of a golden unicorn.
I never would of thought it was possible years ago, but Monster Orange Fruits are back in our hobby. They are Big & Beautiful and here to stay!
2405 Guns (2110 Platte x 2365 Wolf)
17% Heavy to Chart.
Pennsylvania state Record
Pollinator Plant 2365 Wolf grew the:

The 2,405 has made her rounds. I wanted as many people as I could to be able to see her. I cannot tell you how many people, but it was definitely alot!
She Stayed on display at the Barnesville Pumpkin Festival for 5 days, then was at Chick-fil-A for a week in St. Clearsville, OH. Her final Destination was the Monster Pumpkin Festival in Pittsburgh where Dave and his team of Master Carvers did some slicing & Dicing to carve her into the worlds heaviest Jack'o lantern.
Thanks to Joe for getting me this great seed to grow, thanks to the Barnesville weighoff grew for setting up, organizing, and moving the 2405. Thanks to Dave and his team pumpkin of GuRus at the Monster Pumpkin Festival for treating the 2,405 so good. Scratch Gurus, more like the pumpkin godfather crew...

I made a website with photos and genetic information about the 2,405. So if your looking to grow a Orange Monster Beauty Queen next season take a look at this site. The 2,405 has great potential to throw one!
