I posted a number of pictures to my diary on Sunday evening. About half way though I couldn't post any more as an error message came up. I've restarted the computer, deleted cookes, but still can't post. Here's the message

This error (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error) means that the website you are visiting had a server problem which prevented the webpage from displaying.

Anyone else having the same problem? Ideas?

Hi Alan, What web browser are you using? How big is the file you are attempting to upload? Thanks.

I'm using Internet Explorer
Everything was going fine on Sunday night. I posted 5-6 pictures. It was taking longer than it normally does. All of a sudden I was getting the error message. I tried it against last night, but had the same problem. The files are around 2mb.

What browser are you trying to use... How big is the picture? Have you deleted your cookies lately, and logged back in. It has to be something simple as the rest of us are able to update and post to our diaries.

Right now the photo upload page has problems with Chrome. It should work fine with IE and FireFox. Please try one of those.

biguns,
Sorry you are "feeling rather let down". This is a great site and Ken does an AWESOME job making it available (for free) in his spare time. THANKS KEN!!

The software for the site was created a LONG time before Google Chrome existed (website was started in the 90s) and the fact that the site works well with two universally accepted browsers (Internet Explorer and Firefox) points to the Browser not being able to process the software properly -- not the other way around. IE is not that much different than Chrome in look and feel, especially if you just use it to upload diary entries, then use Chrome for everything else you do.
I think if you give the site a chance you will learn that it is the absolute best resource for this hobby and the people that enjoy it.

I will be adding a new diary submission page that will work in Chrome as well. In the meantime FireFox should work.

Thank you all so much for your answers,
Ken the site is brilliant, and i have been helped so much by what amounts to complete stangers. and have been shown great kindness. When i made the comment about feeling let down, it refered to the fact that, having paid to become a full member, i see no advantage to this over non paying members. Should i be proved wrong please accept my full and unreserved apologies.

See, Ken is great! I'm sure he will get it working, but it may take a little time.

No apologies needed biguns.
There aren't a lot of differences, and in case you haven't discovered them, the premium membership not only helps support the site that we love, but gives you access to a member's only message board (At the top of the list), and automatic approval on your pictures (without it you have to wait until a moderator approves the image). I'm sure Ken has other things planned for premium members in the future, but supporting the site is the main reason to pay for the membership.

Welcome and enjoy.

I was able to post my pictures after resizing them. They were about 2MB when I first tried. I lowered them to about 6-700k and things went smoothly.

So, if I use Firefox with a Mac, will that work to post pictures to my diary? I had essentially given up trying to maintain my diary because I could not post pictures. I use all Apple stuff, iPad and Mac.
