I noticed that I had a foaming stump earlier today. I went ahead and did some surgery on it. It ended up looking like this before I applied some Captan paste to it:

Keep in mind that I have never seen inside the stump like this before. In this picture you can see water still pooling at the bottom of the stump:

Is this normal? Or do I need to make some more cuts so that it all drains? I am really not sure.

Thanks in advance.

hi gritch, you should cut some type of drain for the moisture. mind you im just going by the pictures you posted, but it appears like you did not remove all of the brown discoloration from the inside, which will continue to rot if not totally removed. in my opinion you may want to lose the stump all together to keep the kin growing or you could lose alot of plant if you wait to long and it looks like an extreme case. i would almost bet that rot goes past where you stopped cutting into the main.

Keep a close eye the main where the secondaries connect,if there is rot it will ooze out of these spots
