http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=206022 Have a look. I've never had SVB's in my patch but I remember some folks having insects eating into their fruits. Just wanted to get some opinions from folks who have had experience with this. What did you do and what should I be doing as I am approaching the larger ott changes per day. I dont wanna split this one! I packed it with sulfur shortly after this pic.

Pretty sure it was an SVB... I just saw my first one ever this morning.

Vine borer. Probably entered through the vine and this is the exit.

If that hole penetrates the cavity, you won't have to worry about it splittng....it's over.

probed it. It doesn't....yet Sprayed insecticide up there yesterday and nothing came out so its already moved on. The hole goes in about an inch and a half. I shot some peroxide up there this morning and swabbed it out and packed it with sulfur. Hopefully it stays together till weighoff, this is the best grower I've ever had.
