Personally, I do not remove any leaves except where they are a roadblock the fruit, starting to get Powdery Mildew or literally-unsightly, like, REALLY dangling in the moonlight, lol. Older, tattered leaves are just like old people - so much left to offer and I've Googled the leaf problems before and the plant is actually utilizing the nutrients from the leaves as/if they decompose, even if that is what started it. Perfect plant = no lost leaves; Plant with leaf troubles? PROBably low on/missing a nutrient or two. This is not per the current situation, just, in-general, IMHO.
