I do not think you need to worry about splits because of your lights. I have been running 7 of them on one plant for the past couple weeks from 6:00 am until 10:00pm. On cloudy days and before & after you have natural sun you will get a little more photosyntheses. It will not hurt & it just might help!

If it might help then do it, right? My 10# tomato had a light on the north side of the plant for a few hours a day. But, to some extent the final size might be pre determined... So it's also possible that at some point more wont really be more.
