My guess is you fiddled with it too much :-) I also think that because the cots were removed the plant needed to quickly pivot to roots as food source and just didn't have it to develop leaves properly. Just my guesses as I am no expert

Too much water? Sometimes not your fault some seeds just have issues... But if you plant 3 different seeds in the same pot and they all do the same (wrong) thing, then its not the seed.

Yes, Country Boy - I have removed seed leaves as an experiment and that seedling compared to another untouched shut right down and said 'See Ya!'; I do trim the standard leaves for better manageability butt think twice about the cotyledons' removal - only partial, if that. eg

I don't think it was anything wrong you did. It looks like this one was just one of those messed up ones right from the jump. I've seen it in a small % of seeds, and some from particular pumpkins can be worse than others.

The cots were partially rotten also this seed was on soil for 25 days before sprouting
