I read the article. Wondering what your conclusion regarding pumpkins is Andy, and how will you change what you are doing in your patch. Some worthy questions for sure.

Thanks for sharing that Andy. Really helpful in validating the approach.
My game plan: confirm the 17ft pollination has taken over the first few days, then remove the 21ft bud before it opens. No competing auxin sink. Once set is confirmed I'm terminating the main vine tip as well. From that point all energy and auxin flow focuses purely on the 17ft fruit and four super secondaries flanking it; two before, two after, each running their own root system and tertiary canopy directly into the fruit zone.

Thanks to Andy W. So older fruits inhibit fruit set of younger ones. But reversible, in case the older one is removed for whatever reason.
