That is indeed a great find Cassidy well done! Yes no doubt the old "Hungarian Mammoth" type variety that came in multiple colors back then, mostly green I would add. It appears the photo was taken at a trading post or rail road connection at the time perhaps? Also the gentleman in vehicle a RCMP officer? After pumpkin smugglers? LOL.

@Howard: The Mounties always get their man... but do they always get their mammoth pumpkin? I guess we'll never know!

The fellow in the wagon/horseless carriage is actually no Mountie at all; he's a "bus driver"! It's difficult to make out, but the sign on the back of the vehicle reads: "Central Hotel - Free Bus". The significance of that will make a lot more sense in my next diary entry.
