What matters most to me is a seed's track record.
In my opinion, as soon as a seed is created, it is different from any other seed in the world and will have something about it, even imperceptibly-so, different from any other. Blowing that idea up and it's probably (ha ha, again, conjecture) correct, 'on paper' really means nothing tangible in predicting a seed's outcome, although it will be 99%+ what growers think it will be, because well, it IS a giant pumpkin, it is an Atlantic Giant and when top or at least prominent growers grow them, they can be huge, orange, 26% heavy or exhibit any of 1K+ other characteristics now come to light. Same with a horse barn, a car dealership, etc. They are where and what they are, in great numbers, but each are different, somehow. Now, keeping track (Hmmm...) of all the parameters is of course beneficial, but not all-predicting as to the actual outcome. A track record for weight, per cent heavy, shape and color, on the other hand, are the others' end result(s) and very tangible. I think that the only seeds to ever be concerned with are the Top 10-PRODUCING SEEDS on PumpkinFanatic - (See that World Record fruit?, well, what grew it?) and going outward from there. I suppose that's already in effect, lol. I feel you are going to ROCK the Pumpkin World very soon, even tomorrow---Keep up the good work! eg

Yes true you can not fully tell but you can guess based on it’s ancestors. Also both of the pumpkins tha5 I got seeds from coul$ have been a lot bigger 2600+ but one got a hole from a mouse the other split.
ps another grower might give me seeds from a pumpkin that went 40 percent heavy.

I hope that that 40% carries through into your offspring from it, and very good luck with the seeds that you do plant. Looking forward to the time lapse and that window pic looks SO similar to my own of a few years ago. eric g
