Show it a picture of another apple tree, lol. With WEIGH too much time on one's hands, a lonnnnnggg ramp to a bucket could be in place, thereby half-harvesting the dropping fruits. I've been thinking of if I were to harvest the maple leaves around here as green manure - that kind of idea(s). Also, mowing leaves and grass always in the direction toward the patch. Probably just a droplet in the figurative bucket, lol---eg

@ bigmoon Yeah similar, but its a wild tree, perhaps it was a rootstock or just a tossed apple core. Makes me want to do some apple breeding.
