As an experiment, if that ever happens to one of my plants and I happen to see it at the time, I'd like to water one half of the plant and see if it affects the entire plant...Should be easy, since I only have one sprinkler per plant the last few years...and they're rarely centered, lol! Give it a real good drench. Those drooping leaves will snap back. But if they are drooping too long you will start noticing that the vine tips will start aborting and stop growing...especially if a basketball sized pumpkin is trying to sap up all the energy the plant can muster.
