got some more old oranges in the mail today. The following two did not have any parents listed on the package and can't find anything in pumpkin fanatics or a search of the site. Can someone help me with the parents of these?

I would try contacting Ned Sandercock via email for the cross on his 689. His bp handle is "Ned".

I believe the 689 was a selfed 869 Calai: http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=15276

check the previous diary entry also.

Good work, Andy. the Ned July 22, 2003 entry states "It looks like I have 2 sets on the 869. This one is about 10 feet out on the main and was selfed with the 869. Pollinated on July 17th."

Hey I have got a 789 Steeves too. I bought it from Howard Dill many years ago. For some reason it has never seen dirt.

the 689.5 Sandercock is the 'orangest seed' i have ever grown, exhibiting 'orange liquid' in the skin of the fruit(!). take care and do whatever it takes to get them to sprout, as, of all people, i did not grow the ones i had since 2010 and they would not sprout for me the last 2 years...i had gotten what was believed to be the last of them, and reviewing Ned's diary from '03 reminds me of what a helluva seed the 689.5 is...please note also the magical numbers: 869.5 and 689.5...hmmm...
for motivation to plant it, here's my 352 from '05---see also the coooool-looking grower of it at the end of the diary!:
