This really doesn't seem to be talked about enough on here. I know a grower who strongly advocated for Jadam Microbial Solution, and the company seems to have developed recipes for everything from pesticide to fungicide to non aerobic "compost tea".
Here's an article of success stories, not overly scientific but it's one of the first I found. https://jadamfarming.com/jadam-farming-success-stories/
Jadam Microbial Solution(JMS) article http://www.mindfullyrooted.org/blog/jadam-microbial-solution#/
With such a focus on soil microorganisms, and soil health this seems like a huge thing that should be a major talking point, but I really haven't seen anything about it on here. Does anyone have insight of the Atlantic giant specific applications of this? Is there a reason it's not talked about?
Thanks!

This is the only research paper I've found.

If a grower has soil or plant issues then I think its worth a try. Someone should at least try their powdery mildew recipe. For me, the issue is the risk of brewing up the wrong thing. It always seems so fickle. One day you are brewing the right organisms and the next day you're brewing up a disease, and how do you know the difference until its too late?

That's a good point. But how would you brew a disease unless your base soil/leaf mold was diseased? And would you not be able to prevent that?

Some leaves have diseases... phytophthora for example? Its very suppressed in aged compost but its probably still there. If you create perfect conditions for disease it will invariable come back to life. So what are the perfect conditions for disease vs for good microbes? It gets very nuanced I think.
But yes people should try to use free biologicals rather than expensive chemicals, which can also be harmful. Its just a question of value and risk with a bit of study and practice Jadam could be a good value and low risk.

Just thinking about which leaves are entering your leaf compost is daunting. Which species of tree dropped its leaves where you were collecting leaves, and might that tree be hosting a disease? I've thought about this, but for most folks its a lot to think about.
