This is my first year growing field pumpkins. What are the best pruning patterns for these? I have about 150-200 square feet per plant for 2-3 plants, with one pumpkin per plant.

Also, how far out from the stump is best for setting a pumpkin?
Thanks!

I grow mine to about 225 square feet per plant and set them about 15 feet out from the stump. I try to keep some vines going into September. This gives new growth and probably curbs the chance of the pumpkin splitting.

I prune & bury them basically like a giant pumpkin. They're usually easier to adjust vines, and I'll keep the secondary at the pumpkin node.
