Too quiet on the field forum. What is your # 1 seed for 2017. Mine is my last 181 MacKinnon I hope germinates. Had one ready to go last year and the day I went to plant found it broken off at soil level. No idea how it happened as it was in a carrying tray with several other plants that were fine

I might try the pgvg field pumpkin set... saw some of them in person and the mix was interesting some had warts and fine ribbing which i thought seemed out of the ordinary... This may have been one of the larger Daletas ones not sure which lb fruit it was exactly.

The 189 Crews and the 188 MacKinnon will probably be my first 2 field kinds this year.

Does field growing mean starting seeds in your garden rather than starting indoors?

Field pumpkins have hard green stems. Like your jack-o-lantern pumpkins at Wal-Mart.

No, a field pumpkin is a different variety than an atlantic giant and typically grows between 1-200 lbs.
